The McGehee-Desha County Hospital is a general acute care hospital with thirty-four beds. There are 180 more beds in a twenty-five mile radius. The hospital in McGehee has eight cardiac monitor beds, four monitoring beds in the intensive care care unit, special respiratory and physical therapy equipment, full diagnostic services and laboratory and imaging. Full psychiatric and drug rehab services are available through Delta Counseling Associates. Southeast Arkansas Home Health Agencies, affiliated with the hospital, services five counties in Southeast Arkansas. The Home Health Agency is accredited by JCHO.

McGehee Health & Rehabilitation Center is a skilled nursing and rehab facility providing long and short-term care. A major part of the facility is The Tracey Scott Rehabilitation Center which provides physical, speech and occupational therapy to facility residents as well as out-patient services.

There are three doctors, a nurse practitioner, a dentist, and three pharmacists in the immediate area.
